Backpack shopping

It's much easier on Amazon. Just sayin'. First of all, it saves on gas. Second, there's no peripheral "I want this too" business. We scroll through the backpacks, they pick out the one they like, and I click "Add to Shopping Cart" and then it's done.

It's a beautiful thing.

Here's what they each picked out for themselves:

Martha chose an OGIO Spice backpack.

As we were scrolling through the thumbnails of the gazillion backpacks for sale, I'd see a "Tinkerbell" one or a "Dora" one and I'd say, "Hey, there's one!" You can't imagine the glares I got. Heh heh

Alice chose a Hello Kitty backpack. Big surprise. And it took her all of about thirty seconds to find it. She's so easy to shop for.

And Isaac chose a black, silver & blue tribal flames number. He really wavered between that one and a camouflage one, but finally decided this was the one for him.

I showed him a dinosaur one and he shook his head soberly. "Too babyish," he said gravely.

People always mistake him for a much younger child because he's so tiny. Today at the optometrist, the assistant asked him if he knew any of his letters yet. "Oh, yeah," he said in a casual, offhand way. "That's easy." He then proceeded to read a brochure to her. [snicker]
