My dad (who was diagnosed with multiple myeloma back last February) is getting ready to go into isolation at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas this week to start his stem cell transplant. First, though, they have to kill off his whole bone marrow system, which will also have the hair-loss effect. To get a jump on this, my dad had my sister shave his head for him yesterday.
