Today I've been remiss in blogging because I've been a little preoccupied. I started a new graduate-school class, so I've been reading the syllabus and the requirements and downloading the textbook (can I just say again that I heart the University of Phoenix? Because I do). Plus, I was instructed by my husband and children that I had to leave the house for a while this evening so they could wrap my Mother's Day present. So I went over to Blue Fish & Red Fish's house to hang out and yak. Blue Fish was just getting home from band practice; even if Red Fish hadn't told me that, I would've known by the beaming radiance on his face when he came through the door. We musicians recognize it in each other when we've been making music... it just radiates, exudes, etc.
I would've had band practice tonight myself, but this Sunday morning the children's choir is putting on a special Mother's Day program, so the band has the week off. I'm okay with it, actually, because my grad class started up tonight and I kind-of needed this week to be a break. I'll still get to make music on Thursday night, when SoulFire goes back into the studio for some more work. Yes, Brett, as soon as I have a final mix, I'll post some of our stuff -- I promise!
It was fun hanging out with the Fishes, too. I haven't been over to their house in a little while, and it's been quite a while since I was actually just THERE to hang out. I haven't had time. Now that Rick's work schedule has changed, I now have some of my weeknights free to go do things like visit people I love, etc... I'm not looking forward to weekends, however, because he's going to be working a LOT on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The month of May will be hectic because Isaac & Alice's dance recital happens this month. I'll be glad when that's over, and although I think it's good for Alice, it'll be nice not to have that obligation interrupting our every Saturday.
I think I'm going to like having a husband at home four days a week. I came home this afternoon and the bedsheets had been changed, the shower curtains washed, the dishes done, and the floor vacuumed. I could get spoiled... oh, wait. I already AM.
