Saturday pix

The bees in North Ruralville are buzzing busily around all the blooming things. Burford hollies do actually bloom, albeit not spectacularly. Bees don't care about spectacular. It's all about the nectar, dudes.

The stars come out in the daylight here in Texas, too! Little swamp lilies have come up in the flowerbed, which has remained untended while we've lived here. Who has time to deal with flowerbeds?

And the little pink house-sparrows have made a love nest on the porchlight out of Capsella bursa-pastoris, more commonly known as Shepherd's Purse. I've always loved those teeny-tiny heart-shaped seed pods. Did you know that all parts of that plant are edible?
