EVERYBODY PANIC

Stupidest headline of the day, from your friends at ABC:

Does Peanut Butter Recall Spell the End for Childhood Staple?

Dole has recalled several thousand cartons of cantaloupes that tested positive for salmonella. The FDA says certain jars of Earth's Best Baby Food may be contaminated with the bug that causes botulism.

E. coli found in bagged spinach and lettuce and at Taco Bell restaurants also caused outbreaks and large recalls last year.

Oh, for the love of Lucy... will you people GROW UP and quit assuming we're all morons out here in flyover country?

Yes, there will be problems with food from time to time. It's certainly less problematic here than it is ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD. If those problems had surfaced just about anywhere else, they wouldn't have had any idea what had happened, nor would there have been any infrastructure in place to trace the infection. We're seriously spoiled here in the USA.

We pitched our two jars of PB, one Great Value and one Peter Pan. Rick went out and brought home some Jif instead. No, we won't be discontinuing peanut butter in our home. We like peanut butter. If it came down to it, we'd probably roast our own peanuts and make our own PB like they do down in Haiti.

Numbskulls... it's no wonder network news is dying out. They just don't get it.

WE ARE NOT STUPID AND WE ARE TIRED OF BEING SPOKEN TO AS IF WE ARE. Simple as that.
