Our football team won, but prior to the game, a couple of my students didn't fare so well. Two sisters, Steph and Kobi, lost control of their car and were thrown from their flipping vehicle. They weren't wearing seat belts. Kobi's got a couple of broken vertebrae but is awake and talking. Steph is in ICU, however, with multiple broken vertebrae, broken pelvis, punctured lung, and lots of other problems. They were life-flighted down to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
I'm hoping I'll get the chance to go down there to see them in the next day or two. Steph may or may not make it, from what I understand.
Kids think they're so invincible. Life is so much shorter than they realize.
