The sweetest lil' sister that ever wuz
Is having a birthday today
The next rhyming word better not be "fuzz"
If it wuz, she'd make me pay
Her name's Elizabeth, which gives her the right
To take any nickname she pleases
She broils a mean salmon, birds give her a fright
And when a cat's nearby, she sneezes
Her hair's the color of shiny new pennies
With curls in a riot all over
Her eyes are bright blue, her freckles are many
The moment you meet her, you'll love her
Her bestest pal Baby's in Nicaragua
Or was, the last time we checked
She said Baby phoned from a booth in Managua
And who were we to suspect?
Toccatas and fugues, concertos and airs
She flutes with inimitable grace
She goes to bed early, she says her prayers
And responsibly tidies her space
She shops at Ann Taylor (the Loft, I should add)
If you take her to Wal-Mart, she bristles
And don't you dare cross her; if you make her mad
She might send you some Patriot Missiles
My sister's the coolest; the total package
Cute, talented, so sweet and smart
My lil' "Manita" is miles above average
My Bethy has stolen my heart.
Love ya, girlfriend!!!
