Winecups

These little teeny guys are called "winecups" (Latin name Callirhoe involucrata) and they're blooming profusely on roadsides near my parents' home in far south Denton, Texas.

They're very small, but they make the most of their size by possessing extremely high color saturation levels. They're quite striking when viewed in big spreading blankets.
