Ouch!

This morning, Bijou was literally crying in pain, and I felt this stab of panic thinking we were going to lose her. Rick took her to the vet while I went to work (all the while I felt sick with guilt because she had been clinging to me pretty closely and avoiding everyone else in the family). He called me a little later to let me know that she didn't have an internal obstruction or injury or infection, she had somehow injured her back and that we needed to be very careful with her jumping up and down onto things.

I think sometimes you don't know how attached you are to a little creature until you think you're about to lose it.

She's home and resting quietly by my feet as I blog.
