Cleaning an oven

I don't know if you can quite tell, but this was a very nasty, disgusting oven. It was so gross inside that I was afraid to use the self-cleaning feature for fear I'd set off all the alarms and have to call the fire department. So instead I sprayed it copiously with Easy-Off Fume-Free Formula, waited the prescribed amount of time, and began wiping.

Words can't describe the vile nastiness of this. The only thing that would've made this worse would have been if it were sewage... but it was definitely slimy, sticky, and tarry brown. GAG!!!

At least we didn't have to buy a new one, right? A little elbow grease and it's good as new.

[shudder]

Now for the carpets... we haven't even begun to tackle THAT nastiness.
