Trying to come up with a few projects that I could assign to the kids to choose, projects that go along with the novels they're currently reading.
One of the novels is a non-fiction biography set in Nazi-occupied Holland (not Anne Frank); the other is a fictional work set among sharecroppers in 1930s Mississippi.
I'm going hunting around the internet to see if I can get any ideas. I don't want to go super-grande on projects until Shakespeare in the spring, but I'd still like them to get their feet wet doing something above and beyond the ordinary.
